Myy god that is awesome. Although i expect this to be hype for a new game no doubt anounced next week at E3 i actually want it to be a film now. XD If it's done like that it'd actually stand a chance of being good. Saying that i rather liked the original mortal kombat film.

Spoiler for mature content:

That's some quality work right there. I remember they did those short film series for assassin's creed 2 before it came out and this reminded me of it immediately. Very good short about Mortal Kombat. If this is the real thing, this looks like a bad *** game. If it were a movie, it would probably be badass as well. :P Some pretty good game releases this year, but not that many unfortunately. This year seemed kinda low in good game releases. A lot of development and sequels. This looks like it has a lot of potential.

And here she is! From the future to tell us it was a pitch for a film. If warner Bruvvahs have any sense they will ok that one.

Spoiler for duh:

"I don't remember Johnny Cage dying like that!"
but yeah, this is an awesome, modernized take on MK.

So... wait, is it a movie or a game?

Spoiler for Trailer thoughts:

Reptile looks so weird... I've always seen him as a regular Scorpion/Sub-Zero/Rain/Noob Saibot character, just green instead of Yellow/Blue/Purple/Black. But then again, I've only played Ultimate MK3, Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Mortal Combat: Deception.

Baraka doesn't look like anything like the original Baraka did. He doesn't have a pointed chin, like he should. He also doesn't have red eyes, like he should. His blades look stupid instead of giant and pointy, like they should.

They need to be careful if they're going to make this a movie. If they overdo it or underdo it a pinch then it'll be stupid.

I was guessing the whole time on who that was that Jax and Sonia were talking to, and I thought it could have been one of two people: Scorpion or Noob Saibot. Then when Sonia entered the room and told him about Sub-Zero, and he freaked out, I knew it was Scorpion.

I'm glad that if this movie is made, they have Scorpion on the winning side.

Also, while we're on the topic of Mortal Kombat, and I thought someone would like this (especially Creepy), here you go.

Spoiler for Off-topic, but terribly funny:

Taken from Wikipedia wrote:
In 2006, attorney Jack Thompson ordered a cease and desist to Mortal Kombat: Armageddon stating, "'It has today come to my attention that the newly recently Mortal Kombat: Armageddon contains an unauthorized commercial exploitation of my name, photograph, image, and likeness within the game.'" In fact, what Thompson thought was an actual character put by the developer into the game, was actually created by a player, who used the game's "create-a-fighter" mode to construct a likeness of Thompson and demonstrated it in a film on YouTube. Thompson had the video successfully removed.

Mortal wombat 9 announced. Love how all these developers are announcing this stuff a week before E3 thinking if they do it now they get all the attention. Problem is there all doing it so it's canceling itself out. Much like all the delays last year.

Couldn't watch the trailer on Kotaku, had to look on YouTube.

They brought back the 'do so many combos your opponent can't do ****' combos back! Sweet. I can't wait for this game. It looks fantastic, and I hope that it's online is better than Ultimate MK3, because Ultimate MK3 was a laggy sonofabitch. I laughed when Kung Lao decided to throw his hat into the ground and pull Sub-Zero nuts-first through it, lmfao. I also loved Sub-Zero's ice sword fatality where he stabbed Johnny Cage in the chest and broke the blade off. That was BAMF. I'm also happy to see Nightwolf, too. He was pretty awesome.

I hope they bring the fatality environments back from MK: Deception. I loved kicking someone off-stage into two giant rollers with spikes that turned the enemy into bloody soup.

EDIT: By the way, did anyone notice Sektor's new look at 0:39 and 0:46? He looks awesome.
EDIT2: AND WHERE THE HELL IS SCORPION?! IF YOU WANT TO GET A GAME GOING WITH SOME HYPE, AT LEAST HAVE HIM SAY "GET OVER HERE!!" AT THE END, DAMMIT. If they took Scorpion out, AGAIN, I'm gonna be *****.
