I got this game the other day and after that, I pretty much said goodbye to the outside world. I don't know how many of you have played the previous Sims games, but this one is soooo awesome. The models are totally redone (and they look excellent) and you can add really cool and funny personality traits to your sims. For example, I made a dungeon for toddlers that's controlled by a green-skinned witch who is mean-spirited, a kleptomaniac, dislikes children, evil, and a loner. XD

If anyone has it, what do you think of it?

This one person had me intrigued when he had a baby with the ghost of his dead wife. Anyhow, I never really played Sims for anything else than building awesome houses. What new building features are there?

Pretty much everything in Build mode is able to be retextured how you want it (you can even save your own textures and use them). More textures for the grass, dirt, sand airbrush. Roofs are also so much easier to make. Oh, huge upgrade: you can put windows/doors/furniture/etc diagonally into place. I love doing that since it can really save space in some places.

Played the first one and some of the expansions. It was pretty good but I don't have much interest in it anymore. I may pick it up when it is really cheap.

I got it about... 2 days ago. I have hardly been off it since (apart from school). The game is totally awesome. I love the whole town thing, I never grasped it in Sims 2 but I have in this. I like the fact there's more skills to learn like fishing and gardening, although I don't understand how in the science career you have to have Gardening to advance in the career.
I've become a level 10 in the Athletics Career then I turned aging off and am onto a new career - a scientist. Luckily I had my gardening already trained up to level 8 (it's out of 10 for those who don't know). :)

AWESOME GAME. Recommend it to anyone who likes this sort of game, well worth the money :)

We're going to buy it for my sister. We have Sims 2 pets too but I've never really got into it that much, but they are definitely very good games. :P

I played to the old ones, and it doesnt makes me feels like trying the new one. I hated the old version, espiecally the one avalivable on PS2.

*builds a house and get a family into it* - it goes well there
*put stuff into the house* - again, it goes well
*start to buy better stuff like a pool* - now it gets awesome
YOUR **** NEIGHBOR GETS INTO YOUR HOUSE, START TO EAT AND THROW EVERYTHING ON GROUND, PEE EVERYWHERE, GET THE HOUSE ON FIRE, GO TO YOUR POOL, GET INTO YOUR BED ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

So I will talk to people 'hi wfndkjgdfgnd dfiosghbgdosgh hjspfjpsdfj? ARHGHH OU OU ARH OUUUU AAAH!!! NO argn nooooo dfiogh dsuyf' - The talking has no **** sense

Now I'm bored so I'm gonna say 'ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR OUUUAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH' *plane,tv,pool icons pops above your head* - Oh god...

So, They had a great opportunity to make something good, I hope to God they didnt screw it up. I will be trying it soon.

wat

I've seen my friend playing it, he says that it's amazing. We talked about it on XBL, and he made me want it. I've only got Sims 1 and Sims 2. No expansions or anything, and I had a blast when playing it.

I don't think there is online play but there is some downloads online I think. If there isn't now they promised there would be extra downloads in a few months.

I played the Sims 1 back in the day, and I played it a bit last year for the nostalgic hell of it. I heard that The Sims 3 is like The Sims 2 v2.0, nothing huge changed. I've never played that version, so I can't say too much about it. One of my friends used to play it, and he seemed to have a good time. Then again, his idea of fun was creating celebrity lookalikies and live out their lives (not in a good way, mind you).
