Im thinking of getting rockband 1 or 2. Id like some info first though.

If anyone can answer the following it would be appreciated:
-Should i get 1 or 2?
-Do guitar hero guitars work with RB 1/2?
-If yes to above would I be better off buying the bundle or just the game and drums/microphone?
-Is there a way to get singing related acheivements without actually singing (no microphone)
-Can I use a regular USB microphone instead of the RB one? (ya Im trying to buy as little as possible)
-Approximate costs?
-Is the game really worth buying?
-If im not that great at these sortve games would it still be enjoyable for the cost?

Anyone who can answer all/most of those deserves candy. :D

-Rock Band 2
-Yes
-But a Rock Band or a Guitar Hero 3 controller separate, if you have a company at your house most of the time to play the game with get the entire bundle.
-Yes you can use the headset.
-Not all microphones are compatible so I am note sure
-Less then $100 if you plan on purchasing a game ($60) and a guitar controller separate (around $30-40 for a GH3 controller)
-If you like rock or music in general, then hell yes
-Yup most defiantly, there are 4 difficulties and a No Fail mode in Rock Band 2 so you are guaranteed to have fun either way despite your skill level. Nothing beats coming home for me tired as hell after a long day by picking up my RB2 guitar controller and just play couple of my favourite songs.

My answers:
- I personally think 2 is way better than 1
- The Guitar Hero guitars do work with Rock Band, however, the Rock Band guitars do not work with Guitar Hero. (Or at least Guitar Hero III for certain, I'm not sure on World Tour or Metallica).
- Depends. I would just get the drums separately. You can actually just use a headset mic for singing if you don't want to buy one.
- I don't think you can get the singing achievements without actually singing. I've never tried, though.
- No idea whether you can just use a USB mic.
- Depends what you buy.

But what did such a Teuton afterwards look like when he had been "improved" and led into a monastery? Like a caricature of a human being, like an abortion: he had become a "sinner," he was in a cage, one had imprisoned him behind nothing but sheer terrifying concepts... There he lay now, sick, miserable, filled with ill-will towards himself; full of hatred for the impulses toward life, full of suspicion of all that was still strong and happy. In short, a "Christian"... - Twighlight of the Idols

1. Rock Band 2.
2. Yes, they do. All of them (I don't know about Metallica) work for Rock Band. I used my GH3 controller, that's why I don't have the "Flawless solo" achievement for RB2. ;)
3. I would buy the bundle. It's a lot cheaper than buying all of the instruments at different times and wasting money.
4. No, there isn't.
5. Yes, but the headset mics aren't as good as the RB2 one, so you're not going to be able to get as good of a score or get as many notes hit.
6. It was $129.99 for my drum kit alone, lol. I'm not sure about Guitars or the Microphones though.
7. Of course. They have a ton of songs you can buy from the marketplace, and there's some amazing songs on there.
8. Definitely, when I started out on Guitar Hero I sucked, bigtime. I then got a lot better. You just gave to give yourself time. You can go from Easy to Hard in a day. Just go bit by bit. OH, AND I FORGOT THAT YOU CAN PLAY WITH TONY AND ME ON ROCK BAND 2.
