X-Play Best of 2008 Awards

Just reading through this list on digg and one thing leaps out at me:

Right stick combat? That's the thing that stopped me buying the game in the bloody first place. It's horrible.

Also the dog in Fable 2 got nominated for best new character, wtf?

Those are just the nominations..

The awards aren't given out till November 9th.

But The whole "Too Human" bit is just stupid. That game sucks.

People still watch X-Play? They lost credibility years ago guys... Anyone ever notice that their reviews are just bad jokes one after another?

That was the old X-Play. They've upgraded to actually doing good reviews and giving good information now.

Check it out, it's actually helpful now. They say it's the number one most watched show on G4.

Um, I watched it not even a month ago and was the same old ****. It won't be good until they get rid of Sessler.

Seems they don't have links, while others do. Odd that they wouldn't have those link to their own articles, but whatever.

I'm rooting for the Left 4 Dead AI Director, but I can't really comment on most of the other games seeing as I haven't played them.

Interesting ... game of the year list is what I thought it'd be. Go Dead Space, Gears 2 and Fallout 3!

But putting Mario Kart Wii up for best racing game seems questionable, and I heard Warhammer is better than WoW from many people so it might just take best expansion.

According to Wikipedia it was released earlier this year. Dunno why it would have been nominated last year at all, considering it did come out this year.

Doesn't seem fair honestly. MGS4 nearly last year by a margin of about 40 votes to Halo 3.

I stopped watching X-Play around 2 years ago. I personally agree with Total Plox, X-Play had lost all its credibility it had left years ago. Their reviews are extremely inaccurate for example when they were reviewing Assassin's Creed and listed majority of the problems which other reviewers said in the past and still gave a game 5 out of 5? Neither did I like how X-Play went all "next-get" trying to appeal to bigger audiences.

G4TV is by itself is a dead network. Besides Attack of the Show and X-Play they don't really broadcast any shows of their own. They filled up their air time with "Cops", "Ninja Warrior", "America's Crazies Videos" and all other crap which doesn't relate to tech or video gaming at all.
