1.5 will be out tomorrow sometime. Plenty of bugfixes + a few nice new features and graphical improvements. Can't wait :D

Weather? I have to see this. Does this mean that we can be killed by lightning?

Yep, I like watching Yogscast. I'm not using any mods currently, though when I do I generally use a performance boosting mod or I want to use my favorite texture pack Faithful 32x32 which is basically a higher resolution version of the current textures.

1.5 is a nice update so far, but I've had a few cases where the performance has gone down the tubes for a few seconds at a time, to the point where I'm really only preferring using normal render distance vs far (something I haven't had to do as of yet). I'll probably look into getting Optimine + whatever other current performance boosts are good.

I prefer Normal over Far because you see the jagged edges of the world on Far, and on Normal you see decently far with the nice fog effect. Also on some SMP servers you might get floating cubes around the edges if you use Far.

Simon and Lewis got me into playing, literally making a storyline is just awesome, and I generally use the same texture pack that Lewis uses. Also, aparently texture packs can cause your game to crash on rare occasion now.

http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Version_history For every bug fix, about 10 more spring up. Electrified Creepers? Jesus. Unarmed damage bonus? Didn't notice that actually.

Yea some guy was building a full scale modle of the Enterprise. Not sure if it ever got finished though, but there are plenty of crazy builders out there who build crazy things. It's quite impressive.

No, this was a different map, and it didn't seem full size.

I was starting to wonder if the weather effects were working right. I'd seen none of it. Then i was busy making my sea monster way out from land and suddenly, even though it was clear blue skies it started to **** it down. Wtf.

Can someone shed some light on why when everytime i go to sleep in my little cottage i wake up to a million and one **** farm yard animals jumping around outside my door. It's insane how many of them show up it's like there trying to take shelter.

The weather reminds me of Oblivion, out of nowhere a thunderstorm starts.

Also if you have a farm animal problem, you probably have the only lit patch of grass at night so all the spawns go there. One way to solve it is to get rid of the grass blocks (replace them with a stone walkway or something) or remove the lights.

Yea, the weather effects are a bit odd. It's even more strange when you're on the border of a snow and normal biome, one side will be getting snow and the other rain.

Or when you place ONE sand block and that ONE block gets absolutely nothing. Also, Mapping is the only new release in 1.6, but it's mainly for fixing bugs such as enabling the Nether in SMP :)
