There are still apertures, which is the exact same as a red dot. The only difference is it is slightly shaped different, and has a black dot instead of red.
Telesopic sights are the equivalent of acogs, you can only get them on certain guns, but they exist.
Perks that should never have been put in such as stopping power, juggernaut, last stand, snd martydom are still in the game.
As for iron sights taking more skill, they don't. Red dots, or in this case apertures, require the same skill level. You line it up and shoot. Done. Alls they do is make it easier.
WaW is also not balanced. CoD4 was perfectly balanced whereas WaW is not. A tank should not take 4+ RPG's or satchel charges. Maybe in real life yes, but for the purpose of balance in a game it should not be that way.
UAV's/recon planes are fine the way they are. Airstrikes in CoD4 damaged as they should, lasted a short period of time, and covered a good area. In WaW, Artillery strikes last ages, and you are instantly killed if you are in the area. If you are lucky enough to survive, you are left immobilized by the impact. The immobilization is really not needed as it causes your teammates just as much trouble as it does for your enemies.
As for helicopters and dogs, you can run away from a helicopter but not a dog. The helicopter will not shoot you if you are inside (the exception being that you are near a window or some sort of hole in the building). Dogs will follow you anywhere, and they don't stop til they kill you, or their timer runs out. They also respawn, which is horrible as they are bad enough the first time.
The spawn system in CoD4 was set up perfect (with a few exceptions). If the enemy was too far into your area, your spawn got moved. In WaW your spawn is pretty much dead set until then enemies entire team is sitting where you are spawning.
Treyarch also put a band-aid over modded controllers, they did not prevent them. people like me, who can shoot just as fast or faster than modded controllers, without using one are forced to shoot at the trigger lock rate. This means not only do the cheaters suffer (as they should), but so do the legitimate players.
