Yeah, was very disappointing to see Canada lose to Russia.

Canucks will still win though.

well, shane is somewhat of an oilers fan, right? as is mike... I live in brazil, the only hockey we know here is street, and even then it's not popular at all. I mean, this is the land of football (what most Americans wrongly call "soccer") after all!

On a tangent, why is "american football" even called "football" in the first place?! The only time foot and ball come into contact is punting and kickoff. It should be called "oval-ball" or "throw-and-runball", or even "concussion-and-broken-boneball".

I don't know about Mike, but I don't think Shane is necessarily an Oilers fan, more that they're his city team... like not as high as a dedicated fan but not as low as a Sens fan. He could probably accurately describe is own fandemness but I don't think he will =p Maybe in a R!U question or something tho

And apparently football originated as a variation to rugby which both originated from variations of (soccer) football in Britain. Maybe it was very similar to soccer so it had the name football and it went through a bunch of changes to become American football and they never thought "well maybe we should change the name since we're not kicking the ball that often anymore". idk speculation lol
