RSBANDBUpdate! Episode 34

First off the show is a little bit late as I was doing major computer upgrade but it is here now. This week the guest was Krazzi a mod here on rsbandb. This show was not edited this week, therefore I am giving it a PG-13 rating. So hope you enjoy, and here is what we talked about:

Cabin Fever quest, I did it. Battle part is kinda fun. You get to destroy a ship with canon balls, use something like grapeshot, and blow up a canon =). But after I found myself asking what the point of it is. 2qp, 7000 smithing, agility, crafting xp. And a Little Book o' Piracy. Lets you talk and listen to pirates on this island.
4 new worlds, 1 in the uk. 3 in Canada. But we still do need more... Still very full
New beast coming this month to the wilderness. Bigger than the kbd. Pika thinks it will be a penguin.
Along with this comes some sort of new dragon weapon. 40 new clues and rewards will be coming.
High level pies, area improvements, pious pete, and of course readers letters
Adventurers interested in portals to other dimensions and slaying foul beasts will want to talk to Professor Oddenstein once the update is launched.
Listener Questions, lots of em.
Well we all know Feburary has tonnes of important days. But Feb 17, 2009 is an important day. That is the day that analog tv will be shut down in the US. Government will be putting out money for people who do not want to upgrade their tv sets. Originally the date was tenatively 2006. but this has changed. Halo 2 will NOT work on Xp. People wanting to play this game will have to upgrade to vista. Figures seeing as it's a M$ made game. As said in the article making it vista only could "stunt the games appeal" definately true. In my view microsoft has ptu themselves ina lose-lose situation. Either people will not buy the game (ms loses money) or people will pirate vista (arrr). All in all it could be very costly to ply the game. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4698072.stm
AMD's Quad Core chips will be demo'ed as early as the middle of this year. These are expected in early 2007, however they may be released later this year. This is my little tid-bit that i say every week. We don't even have dual core apps yet. also how long will it take for the server apps to become quad-core. Just d/l the file now.

But My opinion on the Halo 2 thing, is that I'm going to upgrade to vista anyway - but not just for the game. I'm fine playing it on my xbox for now, and when more software; dependant on vista; is released, then I'll upgrade.

I think it's silly to upgrade just for a game anyway, thats like buying a ps3 as soon as its released when only one or two games are available ;-)

Anyways, I'm gonna listen to the mp3 now =]

That was a good episode this week. A lot of interesting things you guys talked about.

Pika was a little krazzi

but thats always good to make the show funny.

I prefer the show unedited. We really get to hear what happens on the show rather then just the discussions of stuff.

Also, Pika is the greatest harmonica player I have ever heard in my life.

Yeah, I like the 'full' version, with nothing cut out better.

But.. the sound was a bit iffy I thought, perhaps edit the sound so you can hear some parts, where as in this one, I found it a bit 'harder' to hear what was going on.
