Kimpen took out week 132 with this brilliant sig:

Judges' Opinions:

Overall a fairly good signature. The colouring is good, matching well with the render, and the background is effective. On the other hand, we'd like to see some more variation in the background, perhaps with some different brushing. It just looks a bit plain and empty, but for a first signature you're definitely off to a good start!

Some vibrant colours are needed to spruce this up, and the render should stand out a lot more. Despite this, a good sig.

The render should blend into the background more on this sig. This can be primarily accomplished by adding colour to the background that matches, or contrasts with, the colours of the render. The text looks fine, but the border would look better as a traditional 1 or 2px.

Mainly the text on this sig needs to be adjusted, as it is very distracting from the rest of the sig. To start with it should be anti-aliased, and you can add a few basic effects like a drop shadow or outer glow. The render gets its colour from the background, which is something you must avoid - have the background get its colours from the render. Blending would then be another thing to consider, as it is just pasted on top.

Very good use of colour, blending, and lighting. The background and render flow together and match perfectly. Several judges commented on the grey circle as being a distraction and unnecessary, as you should have the focus on the ring in the centre.

Also an excellent sig, but receiving various differing comments from different judges. For example, more brightness is necessary (it gets too dark in the middle), the background colours could be slightly more accurate in relation to the render's, too grungy... Nevertheless this was a most appealing signature.

I don't really understand what it's supposed to be, but besides that, it looks great, congratulations!
