Seems Facebook may have some competition.
tsu.com (pronunced "sue"), is a social media site like Facebook and Twitter, from what I can tell from my limited time on it so far. The biggest 'selling point' of this new social outlet however is that they propose to pay users based on how well their ads do. So instead of Facebook getting all the money from those lame ads you see everywhere, Tsu would get some and the users(you) would get the rest.
The breakdown can be found in the
FAQs, but basically goes like this: Tsu takes 10%, the original content creator gets 45%, and the remainding 45% gets split between the content creator's 'upline', or as tsu calls it, their 'Family'. That is, the person who invited the content creator to tsu and the person who invited that person, etc, to infinity, supposedly.
Here is an article talking about it.Not sure how well it will take off, but it's only been out a week so if you're looking for a potential way to get paid from spending all your days on social media, it's worth a shot.
And this is my shortlink,
http://www.tsu.co/jasonmrc if you register from that link I'll be in your upline and thus will gain benefit from all ads and stuff that are sold based on your content. The way this system works it's actually best for a circle of friends to all register in a descending order from each other, that way they benefit each other.
Thoughts? I'm still analyzing it but so far it seems to be one of those, "Why not?" things. I am disappointed that currently it does not seem to support Pages(except by
creating a Page as a user), nor have I found support for groups, which would be one of the main things keeping me from using it more largely, but it's possible these things will come in time.
