Looking for a program that can look at an image of a piece of paper, and copy the text on the paper to a computer. Will save me for using ctrl-f for textbooks.

Any recommendations ?

I mean Adobe Acrobat supports it but I'm doubting you would own it...

A free alternative, though I can't vouch for its accuracy or effectiveness: http://www.paperfile.net/

There's also apparently a way to do it with MS Word, though instructions may be slightly outdated: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word- ... ent-HA010254879.aspx

You're looking at an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) program. I've used several online services recently, NewOCR being the most successful for tables as of late, though there are standalone programs that would be more useful for larger documents.

Generally, finding a PDF of your textbook online would be the best option. It's usually possible to find them for sale from Amazon and other retailers, but my luck has been fairly poor as of late trying to find digital versions of textbooks I've used.

Oh you can always find pdfs, it's just legitimate ones that are harder to come across :)
