So I have a rather interesting question.

I have some free Linux server space, but I am programming in ASP.NET which only runs on Windows Servers. Can I VM a Windows Server on my Linux server and host my ASP.NET website off the Linux box (just for testing use) until I buy dedicated Windows server space?

Yes. I've done the reverse, run a Linux play server on a Windows machine. Just make sure the VM gets an IP from the NAT router if you want it accessible to other network machines.
