Built in browser is crap. (Safari)
My Battery life is now less than half of what it used to be. (I don't recharge it at random times, I wait until the battery is completely dead before recharging.)
Dust is getting stuck between the glass and the screen (Design Flaw)
Rocker switch on the side for volume is unresponsive sometimes even though you can audibly hear it click. (Most likely a software issue)
Dust and other stuff gets in the connector port (Doesn't cause problems but is still annoying)
Connector Cable is extremely cheap and is almost meant to break (area where the wire and plug meet is very poorly made)
Applications made by Apple themselves tend to crash more than apps made by other developers. (Lol...)

How have your experiences with your iPod Touches been? I have had mine for about 1 1/2 years now and am kind of regretting getting it. (Especially when apple releases new versions every 6 months rapidly devaluing it and making reselling it almost worthless)

I think it's just a sign of age. The iPod touch released last September (when they were last updated) has pretty much the same specs as an iPhone 4. I assume you're running iOS 4 on it? If you are that's the same as attempting to run Windows Vista on a PC from the early Windows XP era.

As for the battery, it puts more wear and tear on it if you wait until it's completely dead to charge it. That's the way modern rechargeables work.

I think you just got unlucky. I've had many piece of Apple hardware, I've not had any major hardware (design flaws as you say) issues. Worst that's happened was my GPU failed but that was due to old age.

I don't really use mine since I got my Droid, but it was kind of falling apart. I've had it for a little over two years now. About a year ago, it decided that it only wanted to play sound through the right earbud unless I put pressure on the connector in a certain way. It still worked fine, but it was a little annoying. Now it's just a decoration for my alarm clock :P. I can't really sell it and it's not broken enough to be worth selling. I just use it when my Droid is dead/out of reach.

I think the only problem I've had with mine which I got dec 2008 were that I would charge it full, set the alarm for morning, and then wake up in the morning to no alarm. Check the iPod and it'd be dead. That's how bad the battery was acting at one point. But that's been "fixed" (not sure how the battery life compares to how it was back then) somehow although I don't know how. Maybe after I restored it when it couldn't use the internet on any apps besides iTunes (which I guess was the only other problem). Then again it was really cold in my room at night back then, maybe it doesn't like the cold.

I had one for three years and loved it, but it got old, i just replaced it and the 4th Generation one is flawless, you you have a case and screen protector (would block the dust)

I have a 1st Generation and I don't really have much complains.

I just recently looked up applications and yeah kinda sucks I can't really get any since its old, but I have all I need in it.

Also, I have had mine in a case with screen protector. No dust problems.

I've got a 4th gen iPod touch, and it's alright. The camera sucks, but it's good in a pinch. Software seems to be alright, and I'm not getting crashing all that often.

Sometimes the interface can be a little laggy, but it's not too bad. Once iOS5 comes out I'll be upgrading to that, but until then I'm a few (minor) versions behind. I just hate the syncing experience with Windows, so I avoid it at all costs. I usually upgrade the OS 2-3 times per year, unless there is something so incredibly terrible (security wise) or amazing new features that I can't be without.
