I use Hypercam (registered) to record my rs moments. But I have always wondered about how people make the video footage into a picture .gif file. So the question I'm asking is: how do you convert .avi to .gif? Or is there a specific program that gets this accomplished?

If you have Photoshop.

-Install Quicktime
-Open Photoshop
-Go FILE>IMPORT>VIDEO FRAMES TO LAYERS
-Pick your video
-Do whatever editing you need.
-Save as a .gif

Yeah, but people here might actually know the good programs/methods. When you do a Google search you find all kinds of crapware/malware and such.
