Sooo I've had my PC for 3 years now and it has never been reformatted. And I hear things like its good to do it ever other year or so. Then I hear things like it should ONLY be done if I have an extreme virus or something. Recently Ive been discovering old files like "WoW trial" from years back and who knows where the crap is and whatnot because I was a PC moron back then.

Basic question, should I reformat my Pc?

Yes.

I find Windows to start slowing down about 2 months into the install. I tend to blow mine out and start over every 6-8 months. It won't harm your computer, just make sure you have decent backups.

Also if it's not a custom built machine make sure you have all the restore disks before you start. If you have a custom built machine and you install Windows manually make sure you know where your drivers are.

Yes.

Annoying trial software and other things like that slow your computer down along with the ocassional "nasties" =P~ .
It's vital that you have a pre-prepared list of some description, that has all your essential progrms on it. This way, you know what to back up without having to go through the computer manually.

Or, you could go to your local computer guy and let him do it.

Cheers, dafin0
