Looks pretty cool. I wonder what AMD is going to do about this one.

Sounds pretty **** nice. Looks like something that should have been implimented as soon as dual cores came out...Basically the same technology as Automobile manufactures such as Dodge have been using to turn off +-4 cylinders on a V8 to allow it to conserve fuel. But in this case, you also get an increase in performance across the board.

Should be nice to see it implemented in the consumer market, supposing the prices drop to a reasonable level soon.

AMD has fallen behind, so I wouldn't expect this to be copied for a while. But you never know, considering there is a huge scandal over at their HQ involving a former Intel worker passing on quite a few trade secrets.
