I was on the official forums (a rare thing nowadays

) and I wanted to see if people were having tech problems. Of course they were, and I saw the stickied topic at the top "
RAM/DRAIN CONNECTION LOSS PT2.."
I'll admit, I do experience some random lag now and again, and occasionally it's enough to give me the wonderful "Connection Lost - Attempting to Reconnect" message. I've had other issues with Java, though I'm not quite sure if they're related (My other Java problem is somehow due to my connection at the university I'm currently attending. Unplugging the LAN cable, waiting till the RuneScape game screen is back to 'Login' and re-logging in seems to sort of "fix" the issue.) but either way Jagex is attempting to find the root of everybody's lag.
Jagex has a simple form to fill out, which most of the people on the first few pages understand (go figure) and complete without problems. Though some of these people are running different versions of Windows and Mac, everyone who is posting appears to have the same type of lag - something occurring fairly randomly, and most of the time it causes a spike in CPU usage, then a drop if connection is lost.
Just curious if anyone else has the same type of problems described in the forum thread.
(Also looked around at the suggestions, and some of them were made by people who shouldn't necessarily be recommending things. EX - the AOL browser is a good replacement for IE 7...Seriously, who uses AOL? I thought that died over 5 years ago. Another person recommended turning off automatic updates, and automatic scans on antivirus, which I wouldn't say is a horrible idea..However, he suggested getting Norton Security Suite, or something along those lines. Don't know if he's a Norton-fanboy (if such thing exists) but no tech savvy person I know would recommend that piece of garbage.)
(EDIT - Looked below this sticky, and found that
AOL is apparently a **** browser for RuneScape)
