Well, despite the fact I'm saving for an iMac, I went and coughed up the £32 i need to get this mouse off Amazon (that includes P&P).

It's a Razer Pro|Click Laser mouse, with a 1600dpi sensor, 7 programmable buttons, a gold-plated usb connector and the greatest ergonomic design i have ever used.

A quick photo:

There are two buttons on each of the sides, which accounts for the seven buttons (the mousewheel clicks down as well).

I have my buttons set as:

1st on left: Back
2nd on left: Reload
1st on right: Forward
2nd on right: not set.

I'm not using back and forward that much, actually, as mouse gestures in Opera are available through right click and a little movement.

The mouse is quite difficult to get used to at first, as it is so sensitive, although once you are used to it it's almost second nature. At full sensitivity, a mouse movement of an inch will take the cursor from the top left to the bottom right of a 1280x800 monitor, whereas my old mouse it was more like six inches.

Anyway, I highly recommend buying one, or, if you have no intention to buy a mac, get a Diamondback, as they're basically the same, except the Pro|Click works fully with OS X.

I use four of them just within Opera. Two more are used in Windows (WINDOWS, not Internet) Explorer. The last isnt set. Opera and Windows Explorer are two of my most used programs, so for me, not too many buttons; except that one last one, which I may assign Alt+F4 to, although tbh that last one is in a bit of a horrible place in relation to my hand.

Looks good, but I recommend Logitech MX1000 Laser Mouse.

I highly recommend this mouse to any and all. I'm a big fan of the MX700 and the MX1000 addresses all my concerns I had with the MX700. This is an extremely quality mouse with very sweet precision. An indicator to actually show battery life, an off switch for when I leave the house for 8 hours at a time for work, larger mouse feet that don't wear off as easy, larger scroll buttons...and much more!

Wireless mice, however, can be and are often rather unreliable. Mine is a wired mouse, which increases the reliability nearly infinitely. Also, what if you wanted to use it and it wasnt charged? You'd have to wait, or use another mouse.

Also, my mouse is fully mac compatible.

That's a nice mouse! I wish we had one...
My dad doesn't want to buy the more expensive ones so most of our mice are not very good.

that mouse looks amazing. my mouse only has one button on the side which i thought would be enough, i think id like at least one more though so i will probably invest in a new mouse if i can manage getting a job this summer.
