I sent some things from school, which has MS Word, to my home computer, which has Word Processor so I could print them off in colour. Unfortunately Word Porcessor won't show the Word Art I put on my work so I need to get MS Word.
Is it possible to download it legally for free?
If so, could someone please give me a link.
I tried Download.com and all it gave me were plug-ins and patches...

You could -probably- download a trial/demo version from office.microsoft.com, though I'm not entirely sure. Microsoft aren't usually that generous.

A while back Microsoft put out the Beta for Office 2007. They used to have it up for free download but lots of people downloaded it. They put in a fee of $1.50 to pay for bandwidth etc... So if you can pay $1.50 you can basically download the full version of Office 2007.

The beta will work until some time like April next year, it's getting me through this school year :P

Here's the link if you're interested: http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview ... ebeta.mspx

Yes! That would work if he needs to be able to just open it and print and make some modifications. Open Office has gotten better with formatting and such over the years...

Lol, and Shane jumps for joy as soon as some open source software is mentioned.

OOo may work for you just for this one thing, i dont know if it can read .doc files. I would certiainly not recommend that you use it as an office replacement, though. Office 2003 is simply better, and is actually well worth buying. I bought it a while ago, and I would never go back.

As you're in school, you should be able to get this:

Open Office does read and write to the doc format. I have successfully used it before for going between the two formats.

But I do prefer and use office on windows ;)
