Look at this article:

http://www.contractoruk.com/news/002715.html

I was quite interested when i first saw this. People actually being specifically taught how to break into other people's computers.

What are your thoughts on this?

There's good hacking and bad hacking. Good hacking is changing source code for your needs. Bad hacking is stealing someone's personal information.. So all in all, I'd really like a hacking course my self, would help with linux.

Thats actually computer cracking.

Ask a hacker what "hacker" means, and they will tell you "programmer". A cracker is actually someone who breaks into computers, and that course is teaching cracking.

Here's the link to the actual university who are doing it:

Well it says the course is called "Ethical Hacking And Countermeasures" so i doubt the teacher will be handing out tips on how to bring down the goverment.

It's not like you can't find information on this type of stuff online anyway, sure it's harder to learn but people still do it.

At least that course teaches them how to counter it, well, i guess it does.

Not to meantion it can be a full time job - i know a lady who used to get payed to hack into companys computers, she'd do it and tell them how she did so, that way they could improve there own security systems.

Yes, indeed true. This can be a full time job. Even the government would need someone to do this. It is a skill if you use it wisely.

There are multiple methods built-in to windows and linux (i think on linux anyway.) It would be useful for future computer administrators to get back on after forgetting a password (white-hat) but not for bringing down governments (or governments, MasterOfthevortex.)Which is black-hat :p
Governments wouldn't be supported by computers completly especially if the leader cant use one (probably bush :P)
