Okay, I'm sorry I downloaded this. It's crap. Look what it does to this text.

Image

There is one thing I noticed that's better, though. It's easy to open new tabs intead of minimizing and opening a new IE window. All you do is click here.

Image

That's good but I'm having trouble getting used to that. I always forget and minimize the browser.

Also, check out this schnazzy new Desktop Icon!!

Image

So..you may want to download this update. You may not. I wish I didn't. The text is so horrible. It's supposed to be WHITE not GREEN-ish.

I do not see the text greenish in the image you provided. But I will stay with firefox and browsers using ie extensions. Atleast until ie 7 comes out of beta, btw is it fixed on png transparency yet?

Spoiler for Everything else:

A Kid asked Jesus, "How much do you love me?" and Jesus said. "This much."
And spread his arms out on the cross and died.

-I don't use IE 7, they said it was going to be better. Sure they may have made some security fixes but the problems are still there. Activex, and people just saying yes yes yes yes on forms that pop up.
-IE 7 is not standard compliant. They said they were going to fix this but no. IE and Front Page(The microsoft web page designer) are not up to the new web standards, as a result it's very hard to make CSS work properly without some fiddling in Internet Exploder.

Those are the two things that annoy me with IE and Microsoft. They expect the masses to change their standards because they want to use their own system.

Now to answer your question.

Microsoft has a nice little technology called ClearType font rendering. This is a part of modern Microsoft systems that makes text more clear to read, ON LCD's. I am on a LCD right now, and I am not using it. In my views it just makes the text harder to read and since most people don't use cleartype if you're doing any sort of web design, you are not seeing what the majority of your viewers see. I just looked in my copy of IE 7, (which I only use for testing) and I see no way to turn off the ClearType font system that microsoft turns on.

And no they havn't fixed the alpha transparency on PNG problem.

So there's my views on IE 7.

Yea standard transparency has worked since IE 6. It's alpha transparency that's the problem.
