Well the current AIDS vaccine, if administered the world, would eradicate the virus by the next generation or after that.

well cliff if you watched the vid, they work by magnets. so unless you're worried about them sucking the iron our of your blood you won't die from them.

ontopic though this will be great! cant wait to autocharge my cellphone or mp3 player by just being in a certain area

zune and ipod touches will definitly be the ones takeing advantage of this cause they sinc wirelessly so no more wires needed

As cool as it sounds, it seems like you'd fry anything that was in between the source and receiver. It wouldn't even have to be a human, any insect or animal in the way would be exposed to a ton of EM radiation.

It'd also be interesting to see what kind of effenciency this has. I would expect a large portion of the electricity needed gets lost in the transfer through the air, though these are still early prototypes.

nokia already made a self powering cellphone. it was a prototype and basically it powered up by absorbing radio waves. it wasn't powerful enough to keep it charge while talking but it was a good start
