This is the first computer I have ever owned for myself. I got it for my birthday and will be taking it to college with me. Just wondering if it is good for the price.

For the price, it looks like a great laptop :). Only thing that is lacking a bit is the processor, but other than that it looks perfect.

Just curious - DDR2 or DDR3 RAM? And what OS?

An excellent price for that laptop! As Pfk, the only thing a little low is the processor, but so long as you don't need it for serious gaming, that's fine. The GPU is great, as is the HDD, especially for that price. Plus, ASUS is a great company (apparently)- I've never owned an ASUS, but I hear they're good to deal with and give nice tech support.

OS is Vista 64-bit. The RAM if I recall correctly is DDR3 as well.

Looks like a great laptop, Id like to get one myself but my parents won't let me get a laptop until Im going to college, even if I pay for it with my own money :/

Looked up the one you got on bestbuy.com, looks great. Only thing I don't like is the case but I'm sure they have alternate patterns.

Don't get me wrong- the case looks nice, it's just not a design I would personally prefer.

If the graphics card is DD3, then the RAM is likely to be the same. $900 for all that is a steal.

Graphics is not the same as the normal RAM, in fact my laptop has a DDR3 based graphics card, but has DDR2 based RAM.

I looked it up by accident when looking up other things, and it's DDR2.

The case actually looks better in person. In the picture, the main color looks purple, but it is actually black. Also, that grate like looking thing at the bottom is less pronounced than in the picture. There are also some LED's on the back which add a cool like. It really is a cool looking laptop.
