I own Photoshop version 5, and I can get 7 for a good price, and my mom is willing to buy it. Would you reccommend the switch or no?

I think you should stay with 5, for the simple reason you know your way round it. I mean if you can get 7 very cheap then go for it and get to know that one. I wouldn't pay a lot for something new, when it basically has all the stuff on the old one as it does on the new one.

yeah, the thing is is that i dont use it a lot so it should be a fairly easy switch if it still has all the features

Your question does not match your poll - For the poll, CS4 should be better/best. As for your question, if you can get it for a good price, you have a use for the new features, and you have the hardware that would support some of the newer features, I'd get the better/newer version. If you don't have better hardware, or especially have a use for the newer features, don't bother spending the money.

Riiight but photoshop CS4 extended costs £570 :$
And 7 is just fine tbh. There arn't many differences between any of the photoshop's anyway, and 7 is the standard. :P
