Can someone please explain to me how torrents work? I've tried using them, but I keep getting this: Image .
And what is the best way to download them?

*EDIT* Move to troubleshooting thread, please, just saw the sticky

Yuppers

First, you need a Torrent downloading program (like bitcomet or utorrent)

next you need a torrent file

which you can get from <<Removed Url>>

when you open the otrrent file with one of these programs, you start leeching off others file, and people leech off your files, called seeds.

So in a example, if you downlaod a papa roach torrent from MiniNova, open it with BitComet, and it starts downloading, you are downloading the songs from multiple people.

I cant see your picture fromt eh computer I am on =-( btw

But, if it wont dl fast for you, your Port oon your computer may be closed.

What kidna Modem Box do ya have and router if youdo?

I don't know what your problem is but Ranging God basically explained it to you, You may want to check your firewall, i doubt i has anything to do with it but I have windows defender and avast protecting me. Also your downloading a nice illegal dvd there, (a lot of people do) maybe you dont have any seeds for this torrent and in return you can't download it. I recommend you go look somewhere for a Goldmember torrent on a another site or google, but be careful, some contain virus'

This is most likely, as said above, one of two problems. The first being that there isn't any seeds (which seems unlikely) and the second, which is more likely considering the message in the bottom of your client, there's a firewall problem. Make sure Bittorrent is allowed to connect to and use your network.

Would you mind using BitComet? I am familiar with it.

Anyways, for your DSL box, type in 192.168.1.1
Under configurations, go to service config, then select a icon that says new or something like that. Select Port Forwarding, and enter in a port number (like 55000)

YOur DSL box will not be exactly like that, but that is the jist of it.

Then with your bit client, under preferences enter in your Port number.
DO NOT RANDOMIZE

I can't use Bitcomet, I'm on a Mac =_=. I'll try the DSL thingy now.

Ugh, need to find UN/PW.

Thanks so much for helping me like this.
