windows genuine advantage tool

first of all advantage my ***, did u guys hear about microsoft pushing it to be a compulsary update, and if u dont have genuine windows they will giv u 30 days or shut down ur computer, sumthn like that

what do u all think?

I've never heard of this. I do know they released that support for windows 98 is no longer. This really doesn't apply to me, windows media center 2005. <3

thats impossible due but if you install windows and you dont have authencity certificate and product/activation key your copy of windows will last 30 days after your 30 days are up you must either activate your copy or you just simply cannot log on but you always can reinstall windows

I don't mind it because I do have a real copy of XP..

(I have an urge to get Linux though, but it's not really compatible with Counter-Strike)

Well, you can't blame them. There a business, and like any other they'll do whatever they can to stop piracy and theft. Otherwise they lose quite a bit of money.
