preety good, i like the ram. Who is the maker of your motherboard. And you dont need 3,000 for a awsome computer, i spend close to $1000 on mine and it is an awsome gaming computer. Here use this site:

1Gb of ram is starting to be normal, now. Thats not too special. I have 512mb and my computer feels really quite rubbish to me.

80gb hard drive is now small. AMD sempron 2400+ is now slow. But the video card is quite good.

Computers evolve. You need to keep upgrading them to be able to have a decent spec now.

I would say a good spec computer now is:

AMD Athlon 4000+ or Athlon X2 4400+
2gb ram, maybe 3 or 4.
2 x 250gb 7200rpm SATA hd (in RAID0)
256Mb 256Bit PCI-E gfx (or maybe 512mb, like the ATI Radeon X1900XTX)
19" 8ms TFT monitor
RAID compatible motherboard with built in dolby 7.1 support, with PCI-E and SATA.

Ive no idea what the prices are in the US for individual pieces. But in england, you'd probably need about £1050-1200 for all of that.

your wasting money, you are just buying the name when u spend that kind of money, i spend close to $1000 on my custom computer and it will run laps around most computers, you dont need to drop 3 grand from a name brand parts custom computer.

i dont get what your saying...I am customly building my computer.

A comp store isnt building my machine

i know exactly what parts to get..and it calculated to 3,250$ at most

..i took the prices from the most expensive parts out there..the newist of everything right now..and it came out to a bit less then 3,250$

im going to wait another month or so for newer stuff to come out..and buy the best of the best when i have the money for it all...But do any of you think
that the machine will burn up without liquid cooling?

ok lets go slow.

i built my computer, i spent less then $1000 on mine. you picked out the most expensive parts you saw, that means you are buying the maker of that part not how good it is. you can build a puter for $900 that will run any game you want. dont drop $3000 on a puter because u bought all the expensive parts.
also i have 2 lcd lighted fans on my machine and it dose just fine......

about the cooling..you say a fan dose fine..well thats good

and im not buying the parts just because they are the most expensive im buying them because they are the strongest...and i want really high points on 3dmark 2005 :)

i research the stuff before i buy it

video card and procesors are always being tested with programs and then they put the scores out on the net and compaire with other parts..then for the mother board you gotta talk with people..find out wich one has the most features and all that junk(research the parts basicly)..and when you have picked out the best of the best..that you know from test results are the best out there that day (cuz technology changes very quickly) ..im aware that i can build a computer for 1000$ that can play everygame..thats my computer right now..i run quake 4 in high detail..but the next gen games are coming soon and ill be left behind in the dust ..and im really looking forward to running unreal tournament 2007 and other new releases after that...so No i am not buying the parts because they are most expensive..im buying them for a power and performance boost far beyond what im using now..normally id go with best bang for buck..but thats what ive been doing all my life...i want to go to the Top.At least for a day lol..cuz it all changes so quickly..but then after that ill be able to run all games fully with everything cranked..for the next couple years ..then ill need to upgrade again..but probley just video card or like one part or what ever..but not a whole system upgrade.

good lord dude your building a gaming machine not a server you dont that expensive hardware any way i built my own pc with just for $620 usd
and is better than alienware or any that you can buy in any computer super store. and i ve had that pc for around 2 yrs and havent had a problem with it heres the list of what my pc conscists of

Proccesor: Amd Athlon 3000+ 64bit
Memory: 4x 512 sticks
Hardrive: 250 gb hd
Motherboard: Amd not sure which one but its got 2ghz

works smoothly i bough some parts on ebay and some on CDW it didnt costs me ove 600 usd but dont judge hardware by their cost only by the quality you can get good proccesor for 112 us and if u blow 900 usd for proccesor u install and it turns out to be some kind of garbage believe me i once bought proccesor for 500 usd it had good comments and bam it turned out to be garbage.
