Sorry, this guide has been deleted along with the one for blocking ads in firefox.

Ads are what pay for the rsbandb servers. We barely ever make enough revenue as it is without everyone blocking the ads.

Like no one buy you uses Opera here this is a Fire Fox dominated forum..
But anyone who uses Opera will probably find it useful.

ok, just to tell you Opera is not more secure than FF nor is FF more secure than Opera. i tis just that Hackers will write viruses for IE more caz more ppl use IE, so to infect more comp's they just make one for IE...

Actually, Opera is more secure that FF. It has been proven.

If you take a look here:

http://secunia.com/product/4227/ - thats the Firefox security vulnerabilities. Quite a few, by the looks of things, and also look at the pie chart about the patching. 12% of FF security vulnerabilities have not been fixed. Hmm. Not too good.

But then go here: http://secunia.com/product/4932/ - and not only have there been fewer security vulnerabilities, all the ones that do exist have bee fully patched.

IE has more than both, but thats not surprising - http://secunia.com/product/11/

But anyway, there you go. Opera is more secure.

Z4ck, unfortunately, you are right. This forum is FF dominated, despite the fact that Opera is rather superior to both FF and IE.

Opera has vulnerabilities to, but since it is less popular the hackers haven't found them yet. Trust me they are there...

Since more ppl traget FF and IE they find them THEN they companies relece the patches.

Most sites don't even use popups anymore, it's a waste of time and money. Everyone blocks them..

This guide is actually for not just popups, but all ads, like google ads and stuff like that, too.

I dont see why you keep pushing, and keep making topics, or just replys, about how opera is sooo superior, whether it is, or not. People are comfortable with firefox around here, some are on IE, some are on AOL Web Browsers, or even MSN Etc.

I use firefox mostly, now, ive been using it for a long long time now, and not once, i say again, not once, has it had any type of errors ever.. Not once have i had to go into the ad blocking section, and block an ad, or unblock.. Not one single ad has come thru. I also have something else that blocks any other type of ads, like banners etc.

Now, why should, i be pushed by you to switch to opera, because it has less, but still some security vulnerabilities. Its not really a huge difference..

I dont understand if firefox is so un-secure, how come ive never had any problems with it? Now i can say this, if you have firefox, opera, ie, or any browser, as your only protection on the internet, you can consider yourself very vulnerable to those security risks.

I have firefox, winamp, msn with 7 convos going, and my cpu usage is 2%, im looking at my memory, im not even using 1/4 of it. My computer, runs firefox fine, it has NEVER in any case given me any problems, no lag, nothing. So thats why i wont switch to something else.
