A bit of history

I created my first RuneScape account in winter 2004. I played it for a couple of days, got bored an left. A few months later in early 2005 I created another account (I'd forgotten my original). I played this account, aquw 667, for probably a good 3-4 months, although lightly. Then after returning from a holiday in the summer I found that my account had been hacked and left totally empty. Needless to say I was upset, and then for reasons I still don't understand, I decided to ditch that account and make a new one- aquw 776, my current character. During the next 18-20 months after I'd created my third account I got hacked several times, three times totally wiping me out. On all three occassions I stopped playing for several weeks afterwards, and in one instance about four months.

Skiller

I'd describe myself as a skiller- I've always enjoyed mining, fletching, construction, etc. more than combat. As a result I've always had fairly high levels for my combat level, at least overall.

Anyway, the whole point of this thread is so I can show you what's below. I've been going back and looking at all the screenshots I've taken over the years. Since quite a lot of them show my stats I've been able to see what my levels were like as far back as January 2006. So here goes...

Melee combat

Image

Like the majority of people, I've always tried to keep my attack, strength and defence levels reasonably even. I went through a phase last year of not training strength as much as attack and defence before I completed Monkey Madness and got a dragon scimitar. Since then, they've all evened out largely.

Slayer

Image

I went through a stage of spending a lot of time training slayer, and then through a stage of barely even looking at it- that's where I am now. I know slayer is a good way to train combat (RED), but I really prefer choosing for myself what I want to kill.

Summoning

Image

I like summoning, and like a lot of people my combat level rocketed after training it for a few weeks after it came out. The graph above shows slayer in BLUE and combat level in RED.

Ranged

Image

Ranged has been, up until recently, my least favourite combat type. By the looks of the graph there's quite a big jump up sometime in late 2008. I can only assume I became embarrassed of my woefully low ranged level!

Magic

Image

Magic has for as long as I can remember been my favourite combat method. I've never been a massive "alcher", so most of my experience has come from combat magic. After getting members in late 2006 a lot of my time was spent at Castle Wars casting fire waves. I can only guess at the millions I must have spent of blood runes! Recently however, I barely trained magic- advancing only one level since this time last year.

Prayer

Image

Prayer is a skill I've never particularly concentrated on; I guess because it's so expensive. Apart from that blip late last year, this graph is largely unremarkable.

Runecrafting

Image

Again, runecrafting is a skill I've trained fairly consistently since my first days in RuneScape.

Construction

Image

I took an immediate liking to construction as soon as it came out in 2006. I trained it rapidly (or as quickly as I could afford to) for the first few months. I came back to it late last year and gained about 15 levels in about a month. Since then, I've been spending money on other things.

Agility

Image

Not much to say here really. I don't particularly enjoy either of them, so haven't spent much time training them. The graphs say it all.

Herblore

Image

Herblore is just too darn expensive for my liking, which is why it's been at 60 since October 2008. I'll make an effort to traing it next year.

Crafting

Image

I don't know why, but for some reason I took a shine to crafting. 87 at the moment, I'm going to 90, but once it's there, it'll probably stay put for quite a while.

Fletching

Image

I don't think I'll be on my own when I say that fletching was the first members skill I trained after signing up. I have vivid memories of spending hours making yew longbows in Seers' bank, although I haven't done that for a couple of years now.

Hunter

Image

When hunter came out in 2006, I barely acknowledged it; not because I didn't like it, just because I was concentrating on other skills at the time. As a result I only began training it properly in 2007, and then late last year and into this year got fed up of it being so low and power trained in to 65.

Mining

Image

I don't know why, probably because it made me some money, but mining was my favourite skill as a free player. Over level 60 by 2006, it was very high compared to all my other skills. Since then I've trained it fairly consistently, on and off when I feel like it.

Smithing

Image

As a free player I trained smithing alongside mining. After becoming a member I switching to cannonballs, where I've made tens of millions of gp over the last few years.

Fishing and cooking

Image
Image

Unlike a lot of people who traing fishing (top) and cooking (bottom) together, I didn't. I've never been a big fan of fishing, but cooking is easy to train, which is why they're 76 and 90 respectively.

Firemaking and woodcutting

Image
Image

Again, perhaps it would have been wise to train these two together, but I never have. Recently I tried getting firemaking (top) to 80, but got fed up and stopped at 78. As for woodcutting (bottom), there isn't much else to say.

Farming

Image

Farming is my pet hate (cue Shane's heart attack). The vast majority of my experience has come from genie lamps and the like- I've only trained farming properly once in late 2008, as shown by the graph.

Interesting seeing these graphs! Do you record your levels every so often, or are you looking back through pictures?

Summoning and Construction aren't quite right. The graphs aren't starting at the correct positions.. The graphs are going though 0,0 at the wrong times, whereas they should be at different points in the timeline. /graph analness

I used to blog and take screenshots of the RS highscores, but most of the stats are from old in-game screenshots.

Thanks for the heads up on those two graphs- I'll fix them ASAP.
