Maybe you looked at it earlier but forgot to comment? I like it a lot, but I think you need to try and dabble in another style. All your sigs look very similiar and this could be the reason for Brendan thinking he'd seen it before.

looks awesome man, really great outcome. But just for some constructive criticism I think the text could be better, and maybe put in a better spot. where it is now its taking away from the focal point, so I would put it in the middle right side instead. The effects on the text are great, they match the style, but just the placing could be done better, imo.

otherwise, I agree with you, this is a great sig.
