My first sig ever made.

..Used my PSP backround and edited down to a smaller size and added my name. Didn't know how exactly to put my naem in it though...

Good signature, I'd go with a more bolder font but out the writing as a smaller size.

Maybe use a custom text from deviant art,

personally my favorite is Bloody Text xD

Cool, but I'm not really sure you can call it your own work, if all you did is shrink it down and slap some text on it (please correct me if I'm wrong). But hey, everyone has to start somewhere huh? ^^

My advice would be to focus on learning how to create your own backgrounds. For starters, perhaps get to grips with community-made brushes. You'll be able to find some on Deviant Art, amongst many other places.
