I never used photoshop CS3. Well at least till today :P
I was looking around when I felt like doing a signature with it.
So here's my try:

Horrible. I know.
What can i do to make it better?
Rate it with your own marks and give your opinion on how can I make it better. I want to learn how!

this is what I would go to give it the "speed" effect. I use CS3 too :P

1. duplicate your render of the car

2. with the top layer selected, go to Filter > Blur > Motion Blur and use these settings: Angle- 0 Distance- whatever you want, depending on how fast you want the car to be going. don't go too high though, since it might look unrealistic. try staying under 100. Hit OK

3. Change the opacity to under 100%. The slower the car is going, the more you should lower the capacity. The faster the car is going, the less yuo shuold change the capacity. So if your Distance was 50 pixels, I'd recommend making the opacity around 70-80%

Hope I help you :|

After doing the motion blur, change the layer effects. If you want, erase with just a normal 20-50 pixel eraser that is on like 40-60% opacity, whichever you want. Just muck about. Also, using patterns is very useful. I just kind of found out about how fun and useful they are. They can easily spice up a signature or anything for that matter! Download some nice ones here. But most of all, just **** about and HAVE FUN. If you don't enjoy it you won't find it that rewarding when you are finished! :P

I suggest getting a background (a road preferably) and put that put that below the car. Then make a solid black layer. When selected that black layer, go to Noise > Add Noise > Monocromatic and not too much but not too little of noise. Then go back to filter. > blur > motion blur. make it in a good direction of which way the car is going. Now that the filters are done, use the noise layer again and put it on Blending Mode: Screen (in the layer window). Once your finished, it will preobably have a ton of speed. You can change it to lower or higher by using ctrl+m and bending the line with your mouse to the lower right (slower speed) or upper left (higher speed).

That should do it. I like how you were going with it, but it needs work. ^

I was looking for that! I might just use some to practice. Thanks.

The car is blurry, which is okay, but I'd rather have it sharp. Try to incorporate the text in to the car. Try adding a Greadient to the background. Hope I helped.
