Do you draw them out before hand on paper then scan them? or do u just use the pen/pencil tool on photoshop?

As said in the post for the first piece, http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/48950797/ the sketches were originally done by my friend, Emily. So yes, they were scanned and then vectored in Illustrator.
