Name Changing?

Ive noticed a few people that have changed their names on the forums, but their postcount remains the same. How do you change your Forum name, but keep your postcounts?

You PM Shane or Mike and request it. Your only aloud small changes, or it changed to your real name if your recently retired from RuneScape.

Although SHANE IS A BIG LIER! He told me no one will be granted your name changed to your real name if you haven't retired, or something like that, but Bib User did.

PM an admin, and they might decide to change your name.

AlexTommo's was allowed to be changed to Alex as that was technically just removing some and Kelsey just got Mike to do it via a request over MSN. I think saying no was really to stop the requests rather than prevent it altogether. I would probably change my name every month if I could, as long as the rank and avatar stay the say then it's pretty easy to indentify anyway.

^^^ And i'm fairly sure this is why we don't do many name changes.

Uh we have guidelines, if i remember right. Don't know what they are myself..i'm sure Shane/Mike will clear it up for you though. Why do you want the change anyway?

Shane doesn't like changing names. Usually I'm a bit more lenient... There's also Jeff and Brad, not sure if they like changing names or not.

I wouldn't call three a revolution. Or is there some obscure inkling of someones that have changed their names but aren't even regular users.

The thing that has annoyed me out of this entirely is the fact that your not bending the rules for everyone. Shane said there would be no more names changes with the exception of the user quitting so it could be changed to their IRL name or removing numbers and capitalization. However Kelsey and August have both changed there names, Kelsey is trying to get 99 Hunter and August still has money to spend before he gets banned again for something trivial.

If I had been told that I could not change my name again, after my current one, I wouldn't have. I would still be The Haysta. I first planned on changing my name to Matt and then Poison-triple-three beat me too it, I stewed for a bit and then one fateful afternoon I was feeling extraordinarily reckless and after watching too much TV I just asked Mike if he could change my name to Agent Waffles. Cartoons are a bad influence D<. Anyway at the time for some reason I didn't even consider changing my name to Matthew instead. I asked Mike via Kelsey over MSN whether he would but he said no. I saw this as legit then but not now. WHAI!?!

I got my name changed too. But it was a small change. Mike did it for me.

Ok..just to not bother the admins and site owners..just think about this:

1. Are you getting your name changed because you really dont like your sn anymore?
2. IS there a point to your name change? (like to your real name)
3. If there is a point, is it a good enough reason to bother an admin?

If any of these answers are no, then i wouldnt recommend getting your name changed.

I myself got my name changed when i got Chat Mod and retired from RS

I think number 3 is slightly redundant, from what I know changing takes all of 2 minutes. I actually HATE my name and the point of changing my name is so people don't get the first impression that I am a retard, I let it take a few weeks to sink in instead.
