Some suggestions for the forums

There should be a separate forum for the tutorials, that one sticky takes forever to load. Plus, the forum could have two sub-forums (yes, those exist in this board; check the clan recruitment section), one for GIMP and one for Photoshop, as those are the 2 main programs used here.
Instead of just the Sig of the Week, there should be a big tourney every now and then. Winner would get something like membership in the design crew or even the council . Or a new rank, like "Tournament Champion".
Graphics teams, like a group of people who all join a team and then battle, open shops, etc.

The tutorials idea is good. That would make it a lot more organized. I'd rather keep it at Signature of the Week contest. Having a bigger compition would be harder to organize. I will talk with Nate, Poison, and MQ about that one though. Graphics teams would be interesting, but that could easily be organized by yourself in the graphics battle forum.

I think the tutorials idea would be a good idea. A place where we can all get together, share tutorials and discuss them. Rather than having them on one giant sticky.

1) A good idea, but do we really have enough tutorials posted to form a new subcategory, plus two sub-categories in it.

Since we don't have many tutorials I think it's fine the way it is now. :wink:

2) A graphics tournament sounds great, but would require some work. Maybe a better idea than a Graphics Team would be more of a Battle Crew, that could organize, close, and post voting polls for battles. :wink:

3) However, the one thing I disagree with is handing out Design Crew postions just for winning a tournament. I don't think that's the right kind of reward for winning a tournament.

Overall, good ideas but need some refining. :wink:

Yeah, that sounds much better than going through the tutorial thread and searching for a certain tutorial, just to find that's made for a different program.

Perhaps not two sub catergories, but a mandatory prefix to the thread such as

"GIMP:"
"PS:"
"APOPHYSIS:"

Or so forth.

I agree, I would love to see more official competitions due to the fact I believe it gives much more motivation to improve than the gfx battle forum. Hard work to organise and it's not gareunteed to work - however I like the idea.

Again, I like the idea. Competitive Art is a vital part of improving in any area of Art.

Easily Orgainised as well.

This is a runescape forum though, if you wanted tutorials badly you could easily find them on graphics websites or forums.

We already have a graphics central, battle, sotw, design crew, and so on. People like making signatures and such here, tutorials to help people improve wont only make the community better (helping each other etc), but could also get new people interested in graphics and help out the site (possibly)

Besides, we have tutorials already - organising them a bit isnt exactly changing the basis of the forum.

It doesn't take long to load for me, it's fine.

Sig of the week tourney thingy....naa, SOTW does the trick on it's own, i really don't think two tourneys would create much.

Graphics team - I thought that's what the DC was? No ones stopping you making a shop with people and stuff either, you don't need our support ask a few people and just make a shop, do graphics battles, be creative.

As Brad said, it's a RuneScape fansite in the end. Some suggestions on runescape related stuff would be nice.

I really don't like any of those suggestions, plus, Those suggestions would fall under the responsiblity for the design crew council, we run sotw and graphics battle.
