I would just like to know how the mod/admin team feels how it is going. I find that it is going pretty well. And I have a quick question- If a game is locked, and there is no thread with the same game that isnt locked, can you start that game again in a new thread?
Anyone feel free to post on the topic

Most everyone has been following the rules set in the topics. The games forum has been going quite well

The only topics currently locked in the forum are duplicates of other topics. Topics don't get locked in this forum unless they are a duplicate or are breaking other rules, people can always post on them as long as they follow the rules of the topic.

We don't do this for every forum because commonly (before we had auto-locking of topics) the only people who would post on topics with no posts for 2 weeks on them, were new members to the community with a pointless post adding nothing to discussion. The same thing can't really happen with forum games as there is no real discussion.

With the current rules, you shouldn't have to make a new thread for the same forum game again.

I can see why for some types of games that people would like to start over. For example with the RSBANDB Novel, people might want to start over with a new story, but that is currently disallowed.

Reasons for allowing duplicates or how a topic is determined as finished may be discussed in this topic.

It turned out well I do have to say. At first I didn't think people would be able to handle the freedom of having a games forum where the sandbox used to be. I'm very happy with how mature people have been in it, to my knowledge no warnings have been given out there.

The games are quite fun also. As for your question about locked games, as Mike said based on the rules you shouldn't need to remake the game. Could you perhaps elaborate on what kind of situation you're thinking of?

Ok this hasent happened, but lets say a topic gets closed for flamming, or a load of bad posts. can someone remake that into a new thread after the original is locked?

If that was to happen (bad posts or flaming) we would just split those away. This is also the same procedure we follow when someone doesn't follow the listed rules of the game.
