New Section of the Site

Hello and this is just a little suggestion for the site. I would suggest making a link to a part of the site that would contain more defined areas for quest guides, submissions, skill guides, and treasure trail guide. I think that this is a big part of the site that needs to be changed, and would greatly help many of us. I have friends that I havve told about the site and the question they ask is how the guides are on the site. I usally say that they are ok, but then they go on the site for a look around, and many of them said they didn't like it. I find myself that I go to Sals Relm for quest guides and skill guides. I think that RSBANDB needs to put up a better section of the site rather than jsut a small forum. Mabye a small crew of higher level members and some F2P players can put together guides for some of the quests. Then, for skill guides, people who have 99 in the skill can write out a guide with screenshots about the skill explaining about it, and fast ways to get it. Then, furthur, you can put up the calculators for each skill on the page. I would rather come to RSBANDB, knows there is a good guide section, that I can always refer to. Then, make the now submission thread into sub-forums for each skill guide, and quest that people can post submissions about what needs to be added to the guide. Please leave a cooment if you agree or if you don't. I think that this would also bring up the numbers of the people on RSBANDB. I know about 15 people who would join if they guides were added. They already listen to the show off Itunes. So Thanks and hope this gets created.

These sections will be added in time. The backend is being worked on by Mike. When it is ready they will be added to the main site. So this has already been indevelopment. The forums are just staging areas for content. Once something is put into the database it'll be removed from the staging area.

Oh ok, so they are coming int eh future? thats good, we kinda need it =-p

Those sections need much better organization, there all over the place. Even when the "back end" of it is done, the amount of..**** people are going to have to go through, rooting out all the wrong info, out dated info and yeah..nasty.

Been nagging it for ages now but it needs organizing better, it needs to be maintained and kept orderly and controlled so when the back end is done, everything there is ready to go but also so that even though we've not go them on the site we can redirect them to those areas and have accurate, helpful, easy to access information available for them.

Right now using that area is hell, i just go to other fansites. :oops:

Yes, the countless times it has been said and various things that imply it are not lies.

I do agree those forums are disorganized, they're more of a collection of ideas right now.

Okay. Lets sum this up. The new section of the site will be guides and the group called Submissions team, with the colour brown and a little bit off rank text with it, will be working on it and the unorganised junk in the submissions guide forum, and it should be coming sometime soon.

I have asked this question many times. Everytime I did ask everyone would say its something they would like to do in the future. Once the submissions are more filled wit usable guides the actually database will be made. Just don't when. I got this the 2 times I asked the question, so just wait and sit it out.

Why would the answer vary. :-s

It has been known since 2005 after the end of the RHQ partnership that there was a system in development. I doubt it's a system where you enter the code and a page appears on the site, much more than that.

Mike will work on it until it is worthy of releasing. You find if you constantly bother someone to finish something, it doesn't turn out as great. (Unless you're joking about a MAP)

The systems are in development, and will be with or without new submissions appearing. There is no wait for the forums to be filled. Though the forums are disorganized, not many people would probably use the guides on forums if they were to be organized anyways.

As for "Is it coming soon?", the release date is:

Well, that team needs to be expanded. People who have 99s, people who are doing quests, etc.

Having 99 in a skill shows you know the fastest XP (which is probably common knowledge), or you enjoy part of the skill. It doesn't show you know the skill inside out and it certainly doesn't mean your guide will be any better than someone who writes the guide with level 60 in the skill. Just having a 99 skill or doing quests shows no dedication to RSBANDB or your knowledge or your ability to write good guides. One doesn't have to be in a group to contribute and not willing to provide unless they're in the group reveals their worthiness to be on the team.

The team will not be expanded until everything is ready; however, it will obviously be used once everything is set. The 'Submissions Team' will probably not be the ones coming up with the information, there is likely to be a separate rank for those with major contributions.

If you are patient, "When it's done" will come soon enough and then it will be time to put all of this into action.
