The reason people spam is because they don't read the rules and or care about them. Post count is really just something people like to have fun with. Of course, I may be biased cause I like to see how many posts I make a month/year etc. But "most" people post intelligently, and not with the idea to try to act smart or put each other down.
Just because a group of people like to break the rules, doesn't mean the people in charge have to remove it, that'd be like removing rsc for everyone but people who both donate and post more than once every few weeks.
It should go without saying, people who spam get punished accordingly, either through a warning or a ban, depending on how severe the problem is. Perhaps if there is a consistent rate of problems like this occurring, (currently, there are none) then the "idea" may be a good one. However, at present, I do not see how this can give to the community rather than take away.
