I was going to say something else but forgot what it was last night. But I remembered...

I think the initial reaction to dungeoneering is because it is different and probably different than what everybody had in mind.

Right now it does indeed seem more of a minigame, but only because there is only 1 place to train it.
I for one am pretty sure that Jagex will expand it's uses in the coming month which will counter the statement above.

You can actually compare this skill with slayer.
Accepting a slayer assignement and killing the monsters you're assigned to can be seen as a minigame as well.
Dungeoneering, or dungeon raiding as I prefer to call it, works similar in a way.
You simply train dungeon raiding by raiding floors which has indeed a minigame concept.
This goes into contrast with most of the other, more linear in training methods, skills such as continuously sticking your harpoon in the water for fishing or burning logs over and over again for firemaking.

Imagine if they changed how woodcutting worked.
For example, you get a woodcutting equipement box with a saw, a hatched and a tree.
And instead of just clicking on the tree to chop you have to do many other things instead.
Like first you have to tie a rope to the tree to direct in which way the tree will fall.
Then you have to saw most part of the tree and finish off with choping with a hatched and then watching it fall.
Only then you can get the logs you want.

Well, that looks a bit like a minigame too, doesn't it?
But that's actually how trees are cut in real life if I remember correctly.

So yeh, that's basically why I voted for skill.

What they could've done to make dungeon raiding seem more of a skill such as woodcutting, fishing and so on is if they made several dungeons all over the RS world.
And when you go there you just click on the dungeon entrance and see your character go in and out.
Sometimes before coming out you'd have to kill a monster or solve a puzzle to get the dungeon treature or something.
But when you see the character go out you get stuff in your inventory and get experience.

This would get boring very quickly though so I'm glad with the way Jagex made the skill.

The only things that suck are the name and the fact that it's not really that rewarding.
Though there are some pretty good things.
But those weapons and armour... no thanks.

Why get a 99 quickly when you can enjoy the skill for a longer time and make a lot of money in the process?

Dungeoneering is DEFINITELY a minigame. I find it similar to Stealing Creation. Very, very, very similar.

They really need to implement single player dungeon saving. As well as increase the SP xp in general it is so slow.

Definitely a mini-game. I don't think it should be a skill. I think it gives too much combat xp for dung xp too. I don't think mine will go above 55-60 because of the combat.

It counts as total levels and is therefore a skill. All skills must be maxed, so it doesn't matter wether people like it or not.

Right now its a large mini game, but if they made Dungeoneering actually had a point, and I mean a REAL POINT, like..... if Dungeoneering was needed in other places besides "Daemonheim" then i'd consider it to be a skill. (but it has no point other then doing Daemonhiem) so its not a skill, its a large mini game!
or i was thinking, since it is a mini game that requires constant use of all of your skills. maybe Jagex was thinking that, Dungeoneering should be the skill of all skills (because its the only skill that can go to level 120)
