How many squares do you have to be away from someone to not see what he/she types?

Tell them to go like 30 squares away.

Say something. If they hear it, go 5 steps back. If they don't here it, go 1 step forward.

OK, I found out about the straight lines but not the diagonals

at the 8th square I can see but not at the 9th
