Problems renewing familiars

Not having been on RS for a few months I've come back to find changes to the summoning. You can now keep the monsters without having to renew them every couple of minutes. But whilst I think this is a great improvement I can't renew the monsters at all now, even though I get the warning to renew them. and use the new renewal stones and have tried pots.

Whats even worse is that the monsters disappear even when I have loads of summoning points remaining.

Is this a glitch or have I missed some important information.

If it's a glitch is anyone else getting this problem?

Not a glitch, came with summoning batch II.

Instead of having to renew all the time, the times were increased to a large number on all the familiars, and would automatically take points away. The time it says remaining is set, and there is nothing you can do to prolong it's existence.

Thanks Warren, that makes things a lot clearer.

Be much better if you could keep on renewing, but alas it aint the case.

this is somthing that makes me mad I have to go get another pouch when I'm wcing at BA when I could just go and renew them from my summoning points witch I can renew there at the little alter thing!

I'd thought it might have been a glitch as you at least could previously keep your familiar going using summoning pots.

the change has some good points and bad points to it however it is alot easier in that your not bothered by the timers every few minutes in game to renew them.

the only reason the timer msg's still appear is a warning to race to the bank for another pouch soon, or get one off the beasts of burden to re-summon them soon so you dont lose the other items they're carrying for you.

I think this is also easier for yourself, of course you have to use multiple pouches but at least you don't have to keep worrying about its time.

It's definately easier. And I've now realised that I can summon a familiar even when low on points (as long as I have enough to summon the particular familiar) and it remains for its full time even after hitting zero summoning. Nice
