Mining Guide?

Can someone point me to a good mining guide? I think power mining iron is the best way, but is there a really good guide out there with a different approach? Links or advice both helpful.

I think powermining granite in the desert is the best, but it requires waterskins.

That's wher you take the fill empty vessel lunar spell!
I say take about 500 of that spell and just use that whenever all the water skins run out.

Ye what red rooste said but I didnt use the spell i took 4 waterskins mined until i died just wearing rune pick
