So yeah, I would like to do legends quest sometime soon. The only thing that is limiting me: waterfall quest and 45 herblore.

Currently, I have 31 herblore. What is the best way to get it to 45? I would like a cheap way if possible.

Thanks,

Eric

I killed chaos druids in Edgeville Wilderness dungeon to get herbs to do Legends. They drop a lot and are easy to kill.

Four methods! Personally, I'd do the first one.

1) Collect all herbs that you can find. Identify and use which ones you can, and keep higher leveled ones until later. Why is this good? Because you won't get bored collecting (for example) 300 unicorn horns. :)

2) Harralanders. Buy them in bulk. Chocolate dust is easy to get if you've completed enough parts of RFD.

3) Buy Ranarr Weeds -> Make Prayer Pots. Expensive but profitable.

4) Buy lots of herb seeds and grow them. Takes long, but it's cheap.

Another way to collect herbs easily which is a little add-on to Nmr7's post.

Chaos Druids can be also found north of ardougne in a little house, there are like 5 chaos druids and they're near to a bank too. I find they're a good spot. Try them by yourself and make your own idea ;)

Also complete Eadgar's Ruse quest to get 11k herblore experience. :)

Yeah, but you need like 50 Thieving to get in don't you? Anywho, that's where I like to collect herbs too. Hardly anyone ever there.

You can also try making Serum 207 potions. Buy tarromins 400-500 each, which is cheaper than unids. Burn some trees to get regular ash - which is the second ingredient. And fire away with pots. I think it is a good cheap way up. Note though that you need to have Mort'ton Shades quest completed to unlock this potion (the quest is not hard at all).

lets see, from 31 herblore you say? not a problem...

1: you may be tempted to use your harlanders on energy potions, restore potions, etc, but DON'T. harlanders have their maximum efficiency at the rather low level of 36 (35+greenman's ale~yanille bar) combat potions are your friend... they offer 84 exp per potion made... thats only 3.5 less than a prayer potion ^_^. the second ingredient, powdered desert goat horns, can be obtained by usinga pestle and mortar on a desert goat horn, dropped 100% of the tiem by desert goats, located conveniently on screen from the bank in nardah. to get to nardah, pass trough th eshantay pass, ride a carpet to polveneach, then take the southern carpet dealer to nardah. head southeast to the bank, withdraw a waterskin(note) or 2, and head west about 20 steps to the goats.

desert goats are level 23-33, i think, and they respawn much faster then unicorns do. plus, theres 4 of them. in my experience, by the time you kill all 4, the 1st will be about ready to spawn.

NOTE: it helps to have completed spirits of the elid quest to fill your waterskins from the fountain. if you havent, either get soem buckets full of water before you come, or just buy like 50 water skins from the pass.

2:potion making may be fast exp, but you dont get herbs instantly... to "speed up" the process, go to any of the various chaos druid locations, if in wilderness, beware of pkers(note), and collect a full inventory of herbs.
keep all of them, whether you can id them or not. unids are good money, or exp in a level or 2 from wherever you're at. DON'T DESCRIMINATE AGAINST GUAMS... yes, they're weak herbs, delivering a mere 25 exp, but you can just make the potions and empty them, then refil the vials. the only herbs i would throw out are marentills, but thats just because i hate killing unicorns... ^^^^ing slow respawns >.< tarromins might be a toss herb as well, depending on whether you've started shades fo mortton yet or not...

NOTE: most of the people at th ewilderness druids are mal-equipped for fear of being pk'd themselves. so go fully equipped. if you have access to initiate or proselyte armour, use that. a prayer book or defender is nice. climbing boots, power/strength amulet, a god cape for the magic defense bonus. rune gloves or less, or gauntlets. even a recoil ring. with full armour, the druids wont touch you. their spell deals no damage anyway. so the only thing that will drain your recoil is some lame pker. bring an anti pot and 1 shark just incase some idiot starts dds specing you. in addition, comming fully equipped puts you at an advantageous location to pk anothe rherb collector and take his or her hers for yourself, thus shortening your trip! ^_^

once youve gathered up maybe 100 of each (identified) herb you should have enough to get through. you shoudl also have gained a level or 2 just form identifying the herbs. start making potions from the guam up (lame attempt at a pun). make all yoru attack potions, keep them if you want, or try to sell them, or just empty them. next, if you kept your taromins, make lots of serum 207. you can either empty this, sell it on world 131 in mortton during the daylight hours, or use it on afflicted citizens after you have completed the shades of mortton quest to get a small reward. by now, you surely can make combat potions, so make those, and KEEP THEM. not many people buy them, but i personally use them all the time. pking, fighting quest monsters, training on everyday monsters... the attack and str boots are the same as a normal attack and strengt potion in one. YAY ^_^

after you've made all your combat potions, that'll add somewhere around 8k to your total exp. yay. thats a good thing. you can now make prayer potions! woot! so go identify any unids you couldn't id before, and make those prayer potions. you probably wont have too many... maybe 40-70.but thats still 3-6k more exp, and that will take you up another 1-2 levels. by now, you cna just buy ranarr weeds at 6k ea, and make prayer potions to sell at 8k each. you'll make money and get herblore exp. at level 40, identify your irit leafs. then do whatever you want with your other unids. at level 44, use a few greenmans ales to make all your irits into super attack potions. then ride those into 45 herblore. yay! your'e done! or if you want, you can tell 45 herblore to ^^^^ off and just use a greenmans ale to boost to 45 during the quest ^_^

why did i write so much? i was dang bored, and wanted to glorify combat potions

Don't forget - You can just get 44 herblore, and drink a Greenman's Ale to bump yourself up to 45 to begin the quest. That's what I did
