Is popularity worth it.

For me popularity would not be that well. Fans that fill up your chat box with random stuff and requests to add them. Especially when all the scammers and key loggers will be gunning you for it. To me anonymisity I is better than the celebrity life even if the pros over weighed the cons. What do you think?

It certainly helps not to be a famous pk'er.
It literally messes up every potential kill when you have like 6+ people crowding around, or standing on top of the person you're trying to kill.
Although, it's very funny when you see like 400 people following Elvemage, tagging him and doing whatever they can to kill him and be like "I KILLED ELVEMAGE." xD

People with rare items, fame, and all that will obviously take precautions when they're browsing runescape sites, incase of possible keyloggers. It's also not as easy as you think to keylog the person of your choice, unless that person has half a brain. :l

it would have it's goods and bad's. I mean think how easy it would be to sell things on the forums o.O

I saw Zezima buying bowstrings on the forums once. EVERYONE posted. He asked for a lot of bowstrings, 1k+ only and some people were posting things like:
"I sell u 235"
"plz add me i maek u 1k bowstrings"
"add me i get u strings latr"
"i haev 1 bowstring for u lolollololololl add me plz"

It was funny. I can't find the screenshot though. ;[

Everytime i turn on my friend list i get flooded with crap, either because i have a phat or im level 64 with 90 magic. Its cool for a while, then some people are just annoying

Popularity is good, except in video games. Because, most of the time you're popular because you have no life. Except for stakers, who are simply lucky, and pkers, who require some skill.

Personally, I think being virtually popular is totally creepy, and people who admire virtually popular people are creepier.

I would rather remain relatively unknown. I don't want to become famous in RS. One of the main reasons is my name gives away too much info about me(Ryan V 09). I would make a new character, but there is no way I am going to start over.
