What's up with them? Why are they there? Can you do anything but kill them?

they are mages and they are mages/wizards and they umm drop runes of their element.
You cant use a spell like fire against the fire mages ect.

Their main use is for getting talismen for making combo runes if you ask me.

They drop rele good runes kill um for about 20 mins and u could get a k of of a basic rune.

Just to look cool and drop useful runes when you can't be bothered to make them and are too scabby to buy them I guess.

Hey, remember when Jagex mentioned that they were going to make summoning spells? Whatever happened to that? I thought that was them kindof testing it out.

If they ever did make summoning spells it would be the ultimate anti-PKer spell. If your getting chased cast the spell and the chasing PKer gets attacked and has to stop to kill the monster. Like I was getting chased by a level 90 in the wild before when I was around level 85 and I ran through some skeletons and if those werent there I would have been dead. So a summoning spell would be very useful. Sorry for the random rant.

well at least they talk about summoning there, although he is not summoning, he is doing necromancy (raising the dead basically) something totally different then summoning :oops:
