Member items in F2P worlds

I haven't been on this or RuneScape in a long time like I've said in a previous post, and so I have another small question to ask.
So anyway, I heard there was an update where if someone was playing in a F2P world, and they unequipped a member item, that they are able to re-equip it, still in the F2P world.
Is this true? If not then obviously I have a bad source.

Bad source. If you accidentally unequip a members object, you cannot put it back on.

yes, I found this out the hard way while going training with my friend. You cannot re-equip members items, sorry...

Yes, I've tried it before on my old member's account (it's long gone now). I had a whip and i accidentally unequipped it during a trade and I couldn't put it back on. Good thing that my membership hadn't expired at that time(There was still 6 days left).

I've tried that a couple of times, but all the options on the items I'm equipping just turn to "use," "drop," and "examine," and remove the "wield."

then you wield of member item at f2p world it becomes member object whit no options to wield it back on thus making big problem for ppl having skillcapes after membership ended
