Made from the same guys that did Band of brothers which in my book is still one of the greatest war film/show ever;

It's a pity Sky have the rights and there putting it on sky movies. I'm not paying for a subscription then paying again to watch it thanks so I'll have to watch it online. First 3 episodes are out in amerika and first episode is hitting the UK in like a week or something.

Is anyone watching?

yes :)

i really enjoy it. if you like band of brothers this show is great. more action story style is the same. but like band of brothers, you'll really remember 2-3 of the main characters and the rest you'll forget unless you really listen and pay attention.

For me, I love war related shows and miniseries. As long as they stay historically accurate and unbiased (aka not anti-war or pro-war message or theme) then I love them. Haven't seen this one yet, but it looks great. I haven't seen Band of Brothers all the way through, but from what I saw of that, it was pretty good.

Band of brothers at least was based on a true story. The only downfall of it is the viewers. It's based around an American company so naturally you get select prats that like to believe that's the entire war and nothing else happened.

No idea if the pacific is based on true events or not. Certainly was an American campaign out there so they got that part right. :P

well the series is based on the accounts of the main character. he wrote what he felt and went through as he fought the war.

of course they do the whole interview near the beginning of the show so most are first hand accounts.

it is from the american point of view so thus far don't expect to see many american troops commiting war crimes.

episode 3 was funny when they had R&R and got drunker than a peter griffin on the first day at the brewery
