The part in the middle without the screaming was nice. I would listen to that. I don't like screaming in music at all.

It's funny how we have a tendency to criticize music other people like as if it was not music at all without realizing how terrible the stuff we listen to ourselves is.

In music I think respect should be reserved for the lyrics, messages, values, etc. of a band's songs, not their gengre. I don't think you can decide to disrepsect a band when you turn them off when a song starts.

I don't see why everyone has to throw a fit over what type of music it is. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean others don't either. Personally, I quite like it.

I consider music with whiny vocals, poor screams, and ******* riffs to be screamo.

I'm not a fan of screaming in songs. I can't even understand what they're saying. However, I do like to listen to a couple of The Devil Wears Prada songs.

Yeah I agree. It's a pity that she screams as her voice doesn't sound that bad in the middle part.
Really not my kind of genre, but I definitely have to admit she does pretty well compared to other screamo music I've heard.

I really like some screamo but there is something about girl's singing screamo that I don't like at all. Ryan showed me another women who screamed and I thought it was utterly awful, especially in comparison to bands like Bring Me The Horizon, All That Remains etc. In response to all the ******* that appeared in this topic, I don't get how #1 'cool' kids have to listen to the same kind of music. The type of music they listen to doesn't make them cool. #2 It's personal opinion, I mean fine if you have no respect for a genre of music. Voice your opinion, but don't go 'oh yeah screamo is **** but rap is awesome and everyone should listen' You just likely to find someone who has the complete inverse of your opinion and then your going to start an argument. I agree with Warren with his point about what band's should be respected for. If the lyrics mean something to me, but I don't like the tune often this will make me relisten just to hear the lyrics again. And Ryan just summed up my opinion (apart from the bit about liking the band :wink:

) If you don't like it, say so but then don't go on to have an argument as to why cool kids listen to it, and because you don't like it that makes you uncool.

Anyway sorry for the little rant. Not really my bag of worms this song but doesn't mean it's bad music.

Listen to Arch Enemy.

They're a very good and rather well-known death metal band and the lead singer is female.

And yes, a female screamer is rather... rare.
