So, Im leaving for Asia in a week for a month, and i was wondering if there was a solution to my texting problem. Since I will not have my phone on me due to the price, I will be using a prepaid phone there.
So my question is, is there a way to have the text people send to my US phone (T-Mobile service) to a email account automatically?

I am not sure about that... But there is an online texting service that I use and it is very good.
http://www.textem.net/

It works with no spam.

Google voice. Whenever possible I give out that number rather than my normal number for this reason.

On all popular carriers you can just type the email of the person to send them an email from your phone. I don't know if this is what you meant but Google Voice would work for what you seem to be saying. (i wish i could like + rep Paul's post)
