My file information has been hidden.

How do I make the box shown in the image appear?



I right clicked that area and hit "hide" and I want it back really bad. Also, why are all of folders now displaying as music folders. (Showing Artist column in a folder with only text documents?)

May be slightly different in Vista but here's how it works in Windows 7:



You should be able to adjust the columns of folders in bulk by customizing one in the properties, and ticking the "Also apply this template to all subfolders" checkbox. You'll want to optimise for "General Items" or "Documents".
